Wow! That gap is actually pretty huge.
I like some smaller indy games, but they're just fillers between the bigger AAA titles for me.
I can't say I've ever been excited about an upcoming indy game either, I only play them while I wait for the next AAA game.

Going exclusive to one console (and the weaker of the consoles at that) is not a good idea, especially at launch when there's very few systems out there to begin with.
Top that off by releasing a poor game (Ryse) which most gamers saw right through for what it was... a pretty tech demo with little substance.
